Ian Y2024-06-13A Malaysian food bonanza. I visited the Wonder Food Museum thinking that it would be another commercially run museum. The visit was enjoyable and very engaging. The museum has a well documented history of Malaysian food. It was well curated and tastefully done. I will definitely visit the museum again on my next visit to Penang.

Blackmentos942024-05-07Super fun and informative, very well made exhibitions We were so lucky that we were the only guests when we visited on a weekday afternoon! This museum is seriously fantastic. For those who are huge foodies. For those who want to learn some history and fun facts as well as for those who like good photo opportunities! I think the designers did an amazing job and the exhibitions were easy to follow, very engaging and fun. We spent an hour to go through the whole museum and it was great from start to finish. So glad we visited!
M. Misdianto2024-04-13Food is our common ground, an universal experience This museum in Penang, is one of my fave, yes because it's display of all Melayu, Peranakan, Chinese Food. I am agreed with the expression "Food is our common ground, an universal experience - James Beard As per its name, once you entered this premises your body and soul will be fulfilled with food, food and food. This museum is intended to give understanding about the Malaysian/Penang food that totally different as I know as Indonesian food. Usually I only know Nasi Lemak is a famous and specially from Malaysia. And thanks for this museum, I learnt a lot more about Nasi Kandar, Nasi Dalcha, Laksa Penang, Char Kuey Teow, Coffee Penang and else. Its quite suprised me when I come to INDIAN INDULGENCES, of which the food was served on top of Banana Leaves. This tradition is similar we do in Javanese culture when during a Kenduri or celebration of Hari Raya, as a big family we eat together. On span banana leaves serves of Rice and all the food and we start eating together as a family. From this museum, I learnt that as Negara Serumpun, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore share similar culture that enhanced the relationship among the countries. Entering the museum, is a strongly recommended and must to do while you are in PENANG.
Bethan H2024-03-09Interesting... I enjoyed my visit here... I read all the descriptions and was done in around 30 minutes so no need to plan too much time. I'm a big foodie so I found the information really interesting. The big food was just a bit gimmicky but good to see. All together really interesting though.

Carol Tan2023-10-22Have a Fun Day at this museum of food This museum tells the history of Penang’s street food and other interesting nuggets pertaining to food. The over sized depictions were very well done and not tacky at all. Attendants were posted on every floor and they were very helpful to take pictures for visitors. As per old buildings, there are no lifts so be prepared to climb stairs.
Dato Adnan2023-08-16A Real Foody Experience Located in the city of Georgetown, Penang in Malaysia, this unique museum is definitely an informative and entertaining way to learn about Malaysia’s multi-cultural traditional cuisine. What makes the learning experience more fun is the oversized three-dimensional replicas and dioramas with detailed information of the popular local street food and delicacies. Entrance tickets can be booked online or purchased at the museum. Allocate at least one hour to fully appreciate all the displays and taking photographs of the beautiful and skillfully done displays. Highly recommended to visit this fascinating museum.
